I've been staring at this for the last 30 minutes. I just can't convince myself that it's not stolen.....

What do you all think?

Seems ok to me?

The seller seems to be knowledgeable. (doesn't mean it isn't stolen, but make it less likely)

Since the guy offers to meet to transact the exchange, seems fine.

The seller has a fairly long history with Ebay. They may just want to sell it and figure bidding will inevitably push it higher.

You, my friend, are imagining things.

If it fits, for 250 you cant go wrong. Just level the saddle.

If he started the bids at $400 would it seem better? It looks fine to me. Believe me, it won't sell for $.99. It's an auction and there are 2 days left.

$250 would be a pretty good price but it would cost me at least $150 in gas and even more in time to do local pickup.

I am beginning to wonder if I am just suspicious of everything now (what was that!? Could have sworn I saw a shadow...). Anyway, all the sound and fury of this thread signifies nothing in the end. The friend that I am l trying to get a bike for does not like the black fork with the otherwise red frame.

I find a deal and he balks! Although, I probably would have needed someone to facilitate the transaction and ship it. In the end, it probably would have cost me more than $250. Just wondering though, the frame alone has fetched $250. Although I am taking that in a vacuum. Perhaps seller is too lazy to pack and does need to get rid of it due to small apartment, etc.

Been watching too much Discovery ID lately.

Thanks for letting me know that I AM going insane fellow paceliners!

bikes that are on an end of the size spectrum aint the easiest to resell, maybe that's a part of the reason

Seems legit to me.

I'd point out to the balker that it's an Ouzo Pro fork, worth a decent % of the $250 on its own.

Sooooo what's the problem here??? Oh yeah, your buddy doesn't like the black fork on red (looks pink here lol) frame. Hmmm depends on the bike I'd guess (looks over at his red legend Ti with black Ouzo fork :p)

Haha, I know. There aren't enough pictures to show the other components, but if taken at face value, far more value at $250 than Nashbar/Performance/BD/HongFu etc. And If I needed another bike (like a hole in the head), I'd jump on it, but I don't and to be honest, don't need two Specialized bikes in my apartment (especially since my Allez Elite is better than the listed one)

But, it's a semi-complicated backstory. It's my best friend and he's finally got a foot in the door to cycling. However, his wife has made it well known that he's not gonna buy one or can not contribute $$ to one if a bike purchase is made. So I stepped up and offered to build one up for him on my dime. The stipulation is that it's gonna be cheaper, but he gets the final say on the aesthetics of the bike. He bleeds Hoosier crimson and would prefer a clean red/crimson look. I mean, we can bag on his preferences all day ( I sure as heck do!), but at the end of the day, it's his bike..or mine if he ends up not using too much.

Weird thing is, through ebaying and some stuff bought here, his bike is not only shaping up to be cheaper than mine (components-wise, no frame yet), but better equipped too.
