i didn't want to be that guy, but i got one from my sister-in-law for x-mas...may as well use it

(it will give me extra incentive not to eat ····· in the woods)

and am i missing something cuz all the mounts seem like crap!

The jury is out for me. I'm not sure which is best the helmet or handlebar mount.

Last year I did a ride down the California coast. I used the handlebar mount. Some of the guys I rode with used the chest harness. For me the handlebar mount isn't as sturdy as I thought. My fault. We were on California 1 near San Simeon and the roads are a little bit bumpy. I heard a cracking sound and the camera was bouncing down the highway. The mount snapped in half. I haven't used it since then. I'm still trying to figure out what will be the best way to take pics/videos.

You can get aluminum mounts. K-edge makes a pricey one.(Or you can get one of the clones on Ebay)

If you're going to use a handlebar mount, get a k-edge. They're rock solid.

I ponied up for, and really like, the K-Edge handlebar mount, after reading a similar horror story of a failed GoPro mount sending their GoPro careening into a ditch.

This (http://www.wimp.com/steadycamera/) might be a bit unwieldy on a bike, but it would make for some pretty awesome videos.

I'm using the K-Edge (http://www.competitivecyclist.com/k-edge-pro-handlebar-mount-for-gopro-hero?CMP_SKU=KEG0020&MER=0406&CMP_ID=PLA_GOc014&mv_pc=r101&mr:trackingCode=AE389704-8D08-E211-9B44-001B21BCB944&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=pla&mr:ad=32341294425&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:filter=20762933025&mkwid=s1pat0en4_dc|pcrid|32341294425&origin=pla&gclid=COKW7IXo5LsCFeYWMgodsBYAdg) and like it although it's much better for road riding than trail riding. I find that when I'm riding trails too often the turning of my bars to negotiate the twists and turns results in some dizzying video. That's simply not a problem on the road. Plus, the mount catches every bit of road vibration and adds that to your video. I'm able to edit out a good amount of that through the stabilization feature of iMovie.

I just ordered the chest-mount (http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/chest-mount-harness) from GoPro last night to see how that works. Provided it doesn't catch too much of my arms/hands in the video it should be a considerable improvement.

I'll just chime in with another endorsement for the K-edge for the road. I'll be trying the chest mount for MTB soon though

K-Edge for H'Bar and Saddle Rails. Chesty for off-road. Mostly, I just hold the thing in my hand and keep it in my jersey pocket.

Anyone use the SONY version? Looks like a nice alternative.
