Chris King / Pegoretti ~ D11 ~ headset availability?

Is the Chris King/Pegoretti D11 headset available for the general public?

I'm digging his 40mm (or 40.5mm) headtubes on more recent frames and kinda wish they'd be the new standard over 44mm, even though they're growing on me.

They are available.

It's for a straight steerer 1.125" headset. Depending on the size of the pipes on your bike it may or may not be "necessary" (which doesn't account for your visual preferences).

Discuss the options with the person building your upcoming bike- they should be able to weight in and help you out.

I remember reading an Embro post about replacement parts versus the standard headset. I don't see the D11 listed on Chris King's site, or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's not listed on their site- Dario is the only one (at least that I know of) regularly using that sized head tube.
