I have two. Well three.

1. Join Spin Classes this winter.

So I beat the deadline and did my first-ever spin class tonight. Holy mother of Captain Kirk; for seventy minutes tonight I was an EPO hamster on a wheel, standing up out of the saddle for 60% of it, sweating like a mofo, listening to cheesy dance music, and loving it. Loved it.

2. Join a Yoga class this winter. To be continued.

3. Spend a ridiculous amount of money on carbon wheels this Spring.

Do some cyclocross racing for the first time in fall. Everything else will be structured around that :bike:

as per my "training for dummies" thread I'm looking to get a bit faster, climb better and get to where i maintain a higher avg speed over longer distances. working up to a solo century in the next 2 months or so as well! sooner if the weather isn't so isht

also not so much a resolution but I'm REALLY looking forward to building up my china crabon frame i ordered recently! should be here in the next week or two then its getting some 5700 105 dangers and my old 9sp 105 bits until i can afford some campy shifters and a new cassette, probably an 105 or ultegra double if i can score one too. really excited to have a nice fresh bike to rip around on for the first time in years!

Find my perfect "fit"

I ride my saddle height the same but my contact points aren't the same on every bike.

Non is uncomfortable, but I'm sure some are more comfortable than others.

Wanna get a fitting so I can see what is perfect for me, try it, and if it is optimal get a custom at some point!

Take time to notice the beauty that surrounds me on every ride .
Riding is fun and not a job ..a bike is a wonderful servant but a terrible master
Cheers. IMHO happy new year :)

i just placed an order for some bike stuff, my goal for 2014 is to buy less stuff and ride a whole lot more. i've got my sights set on a a few key rides this year that will take a lot of diligent preparation for, and while i'm not ready to commit that i WILL do them, it is something to aim for on the comfort of new-years eve. we'll see how it goes.

As true today as ever..'Ride Lots'...

I have a kinda 'mantra

EB, EL, DL, RL..don't be an SOB

Eat Better, Eat Less, Drink Less, Ride Lots..don't be a Senior On a Bike...There are some of these SOBs here, and god love 'em, they ride a lot but I'm not at the 'hybrid, trundle at 8 MPH stage', thanks..

Do better winter training (includes trainer hours, flexibility and core strength training).
Lose weight.
Ride more. I didn't come anywhere near my 5,000 mile goal for 2013, so I am pushing that forward to 2014.
Ride 100 miles solo.
Be safe.
Wrench my own bike when possible.

1. Drop the booze once and for all.

2. Concentrate on making my business more viable.

3. Lose more weight. My goal this year was to lose 25 lbs. I lost 15 of them. My new goal is to drop 15 lbs. down to 175.

4. Become a regular at the 6:15 a.m. Coffee Crew ride on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just showing up on time will be a success.

Have had some medical issues this year that forced me to cut my pace down a bit. So, I want to:

1) recover or increase my previous pace consistently (and kick some friendly butt among my buddies in good fun...:cool:), and
2) push 10k miles this year.

1. More intensity

2. More dirt (mtb, tandem mtb, DH, CX)

3. More rides with wife/daughter (they can both really ride, just need to get them out more)

4a. Replace XX brakes with XT
4b. Get a dropper post
4c. After 4a/4b curtail component and clothing spending

5. Continue parts/spares sell-off on paceline classifieds.

6. Continue saving for sub-15 Di2 carbon

The first one is never, ever happening. Vegetables kill, we die at the sight of them. Find a veggie powder or supplement.

Happy New Year gang! :beer::beer:

For 2014...

Ride more...4,500 miles to beat my 4,000 this year;
Spin class doesn't count for miles, but I'm doing it 3x per week;
Weight training on the non-spin days;
Seek out new hills and climb them;
5 centuries, with at least one faster than my 5:14 last year;
Cut back on the alcohol to 4 glasses or beers/week.
Don't be an SOB (thanks, OP)
Get my wife on her first century;
Buy only consumables...no bikes this year...unless I have an exceptional year.

I'm just going to keep it simple: Ride More.

I fall into the trap of having less time in a day than I'd like to ride (don't we all) so rather than do something shorter or around town, I just don't ride. That's what I'm going to work on, because the next thing you know it's -7*f, the snow is falling, I'm sick of the trainer and it's not even January yet. ;)
