Not to rub it in to my brethren in the east, but here in San Luis Obispo it was
a beautiful 79° today. Although I love days like this, I do not like what it
portends as far as our water supply. I got out after the kids tore through
Christmas, and got in about an hour and half ride. From my house I rode through
dormant vineyards and citrus orchards on the way to Lopez Lake. Numerous boaters
were out, as were motorcyclists in sleeveless shirts and shorts. I came back in
against the usual 10-15 knot headwind. All in all a beautiful day, although we
do need rain.

Looks beautiful there, cold as hell in Upstate NY. I got out for a four mile run before church, which was good. Hoping to cycle this weekend.

Yep, did just under 40km, out at 0530 and back by 0700 before my wife or the cat had even woken up. The temp was just right and no wind until the Easterly kicked in about half way through.

Best thing of all was that there was hardly a car on the roads :banana:

did a frozen-toed 60 km ride today - realized I am not prepared for hills of any sort, but it was fun :)

I did a cold one hour ride. It was 26F with a wind chill of about 14. My hands were warm thanks to my new Castelli Estremo gloves!

I love Angeles Crest HWY. How far did you go? Was the motorcycle/sports car traffic light?

just to fork/ranger station up top. only a lambo, Porsche, and a bunch of motorbikes. I was so tired from yesterday's ride http://connect.garmin.com/activity/419274719

I want to try an loop this going up big t and down 2 before I head back to the bay. I also want to explore around the pch area. I might have to suck it up and drive to the base.

did 30 miles today.

central TX weather was ok, 53F, no wind, a few minutes of drizzle.

even tho traffic was almost non-existent, still managed to almost get right-hooked by some numbnuts with a 'coexist' bumper sticker...

Definitely got out, nothing special, just my plateau ride. Yesterday made the 5th or 6th day in a row of riding. Can't complain about that. But not today, snowed during the night, still falling.

Those hills in California look amazingly dry. Scary dry in fact.

i did a 35 mile loop. it was so quiet on the road, and for first time i can remember i clicked in off my front path and clicked out again on my front path - my new neon yellow over socks didn't touch the road once. it won't last.

I guess I'm just an 'a-hole magnet' cause I sure as shootin found 2 of em on my 1hr ride yesterday. (I was *maybe* passed by a dozen cars in that hour.)

First was a douche in a Mini that barely had time to clear oncoming traffic before diving back into the lane.

The second was a Chevy 4x4 that passed the same car not 2sec later, forcing it to brake in order to not get hit head-on.

...all to get to a stop sign not 1/4mi up the road!

I guess if you're baseline personality is 'a-hole' you're not going to make a distinction for Crimmus.

No Tri for me OP. Socks are cut low. Hate anything above my ankle bone.

Did a triathlon of sorts…

Rollers for 45 min, shovel snow for 30 min, then back on the rollers for another 30. Sorry, no pics.

BTW, e-motions rock.

Nothing close to dry and warm as the OP, but I got out for a dusk ride on Christmas Eve. About 40 degrees, dampish, with clear sky.

The photo above^ is Mt Pilchuck. My kids and I hiked up there in October, and the picture below was taken from the top that day.

It was a sunny ~20°F with a wind-chill/"Real Feel" of 13° yesterday. So naturally, I went out on a Club ride! Only three racer friends showed up, and for a while there it was touch-n-go (like, "this is stupid, I can't feel my face and we've only gone 200 yards!") but we managed to put in 35 miles. Towards the end we were even all commenting on how "surprisingly" fun the ride was.

Just a stupid accident. I got tangled in a blanket as I was attempting to get up from the couch and boom, I went down hard.
