I used to be the exclusive dealer in Hawaii for Paul Dunstall. Accordingly I had a Dunstall Norton 810. It now lives in Ramona California as a piece of living room art.

I had several other 'interesting' bikes, but the Dunstall was the coolest and Paul was a really nice guy.

an Ed Bargy race school a few years ago. i made the decision after that experience to stay away from the track days........they are just too addictive :crap: . not to say that i don't enjoy the track but i'd just get too sucked into the whole race thing and i know that i just couldn't afford to do it at the level i really wanted to.

Attached is a photo of my '95 916: Termignoni's, Marchesini's and all the other i's you could add. I no longer own the bike, due to a character flaw, I could *not* ride it slow and I was one ticket away from walking.

True story: I was on Pinnacles Highway (lived in CA at the time) and there is a place where you crest a hill onto a long straight with no houses or intersections for about 10 miles. I lit the Ducati up and was at ~160 when I heard a droning noise. I looked to my right and there was a CHP fixed wing airplane flying at about 100 feet off the ground. He waggled his wings to signal me to slow down and then took off.

I'm older and wiser now. A lot of the former, a little of the latter.

WOW!!! 1972 Norton "Combat" Commando. Would love to see some photos on that one.

Thanks for the requests for a photos. Guys, I'm totally embarrassed and more than a little amazed that I do not have a single photograph of a bike that I've owned for more than 25 years! I've got all of my motorcycle pictures in one very large album and there ain't a single one of the Norton. So, bear with me, I'll go and take a few and post them in a couple of days.

As I said, I've had the bike a long time. It is currently set up as a "touring" bike with the Interstate gas tank. I also have the smallter tank and have had it set up as more of a cafe racer with clip-ons and rearsets in the past. It really is an amazing machine to ride and on technical roads where power isn't at a premium will keep up with a modern sportbike quite well. I've taken several long trips on it and it has always been very reliable though I do maintain it pretty well.

At any rate, thanks to the list for making me realize I didn't have a picture of my long time love. I'm truly astounded that's the case and I'll remedy it shortly and post the results.

1998 Ducati Monster 900. I have been modifying it since Nov. '05. Should be done soon and when it is I'll post a picture. Very, very tough to ride "slow". That 916 of Greg's, shown a couple posts above, is just about as pretty as they get.

I had a '69 Norton Commando Fastback. Fiberglass tank swooped back into the seat & molded fiberglass tail. You're right. An all time favorite British bike to be sure.

Grocer made good! Cool...sold my 78 Bonneville three years ago to pay some taxes...it ran like a top for about two days after every tuning...helps to be mechanical with the old British bikes, but you gotta love em anyway...nice bit of mfg. history there...Here I am in the old days (2000'ish) with the Bonneville...we shared some fun rides in the hills of northern NJ....
