I'm curious about folks' experiences with the Pinarello Dogma or other magnesium frames (if there are any out there). I note that Lennard Zinn http://www.zinncycles.com/ is now making custom mag frames, including his Project Big frames, at fairly reasonable prices ($2,500-$2,800).

Talk to Brendan at competitive cyclist, the pinarello dogma is one of his favorite bikes and he has ridden just about everything that they carry, he stayed on it most of last year until he got his custom big leg emma, he says he probally would still use dogma for racing, he has some of last year models at good prices in limited sizes, while the 2006 models are over $4000

If you are interested in mag mountain bike frames, you can find new ones on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/19-Magnesium-Mountain-Bike-Frame-Lodestar-Salt-Cycle_W0QQitemZ7214173362QQcategoryZ98083QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem. I picked up one of these a few months ago for about $150 and have been very happy with it. This guy sells a couple a week and they seem to go for between $100 and $200. I'm not an expert, but somewhere on the Internet I found a mountain bike forum where several people are buying these things and loving them.

I had a Paketa for a little while and it was pretty nice. Took a Dogma for two weeks and thought it nice, but it wasn't a heart stopper...

Personally, given that metal's properties(and potential liabilities and the fact that I have been on several carbon and Carbon / Ti bikes that I liked better and are cheaper, I would probably pass...
