Someone mention in another thread about scotchguard paint protection tape...wondering if anyone has tried this over top of bar top tube cable guides to keep sweat out? Seems like it would work but maybe I am wrong...thanks...

I don't know how you'd get it to seal. . . seems like putting it on such an irregular-shaped surface, you'd always have wrinkles and places that didn't adhere.

If you're talking about using the bike on a trainer, those strips of towel that stretch from seatpost to stem do a good job. And if you're talking about when you're out on the road, I wonder if a spray of anti-rust after each ride, and wipe off the excess, would work as well as anything?

yep...maybe...good idea on squirting them maybe every few weeks with something...wonder what wouldn't do anything to paint...maybe just abit of grease rubbed on there....just dont want to see any frames die because of top tube cable guides is all...
