Superb little book, better than any other book about bikes I have read. Got it for Christmas 6 or 7 years ago.

Lots of folks really like it, but for some reason I thought it was OK, but a bit overwrought. I'm probably in the minority on that.

I'm one of the ones who really liked it. If you're at all open to contemporary philosophy, that probably helps. I don't believe it's packed with quotes or anything, but philosophy/literary theory is his background, and it comes through in his writing. Kind of like a book about cycling by Milan Kundera? But it's been a while since I've read Milan Kundera, so maybe that's not apt.
