Looks like another round of people gone from the parent of Velo (news). This time it is the CEO and CFO. I am sure everyone remembers the last purge after it as sold to the first private equity group. Not sure what this means except that its just as painful to make money in sports publishing as it is in the bike business.

Doesn't sound like good news. VN has broken several PED related stories in the last few years. Other than that, their race coverage is slow, video links are minimal, and they remain a shadow of their former self. Cyclingnews is my go-to now, with regrets.

Maybe they'll merge with Crochet! Magazine.

The cross selling opportunities would be tremendous.

And the quality of proofreading and editorial content is equally superb.

. . . to compete, at least with VN.com. With both that and the print edition needing so much material from overseas, their expenses must be high.

But that being said, CGI is one of the few companies that has paid me fairly and in a timely manner when they use one of my photos, as they did in this most recent issue. They have never called up and tried to get something for free, not have they gone to the race organizers for what I've shot and tried to get it free there. They come straight to me and are willing to pay.

To me as a vendor that's worth a lot.
