What's better...or what's more cost effective?

I have a CK R45 Shimano wheel but I want to go Campy.

Should I...

A) Convert the wheel...$300 bucks plus labor

B) Have a new wheel made...and sell the old wheel?

Suggestions?

Conversion cassette? I've used the American Classic version for 10s Campy and it works just fine.

The wheels mfg conversion cassettes do not work on ck hubs. I don't remember about the am classic ones.

build a bike around the shimano wheel and then order a new campy one for your existing bike... it's the only logical solution. alternatively, it's probably cheaper to sell your wheel and buy a new campy one.

That's what I was thinking too!

Always buy in pairs, no such thing as too many wheelsets.

I would buy a new wheel and sell your old. I think you'll come out ahead doing it this way, you can use the money you make off the old wheel to help cover the new one

I know nearly zero about these things.

S cogs won't go on C cassette bodies, and vice versa, and spacing is subtly different -- but aside from those (not insoluble) problems, are there other issues that make this such a nosebleed that spending a few hundred bucks looks good by contrast?

Yep! I'm going the easy route! Thanks!
