I picked up a large soft ice pack a few months ago for just this kind of stuff.
Throw some good music on the turntable and let the cold do it's thing :)

Turntables and analog sound in general is the best for listening. This is one time however that running tunes off the music server is the way to go - getting up outta that chair every 20 minutes to flip the LP over might not be much fun given your current state.

I was thinking record because the time would be just about right for changing out the icepacks to fresh :)

Being retired, being old, and able to live about anywhere in US I wish, I think one reason I live in Florida is my joints feel better in warm weather. Cold seems to hurt more and more each year, as I get older. I got other issues, but being able to exercise every day just keeps me moving. Must be true, because folks move here all the time to live out the raiming few years of their lives, get here and get active, and live another 30 years. Hear this story all the time. Have property in NC foothill area also, but never seriously think about moving there.

My biggest riding decision this AM will be whether or not I wear my arm coolers this AM. Probably will....they block some UV.

Which is worse, ice bags or the foam roller?

I think the roller is a special circle of hell myself. But then I've got an IT band that hates me.

"Love". A movie about an astronaut that gets marooned alone on the ISS. Nice, low budget Sci Fi.

That's why the gin only gets thick in the freezer....

I'm developing a bit of "louder" chondromalacia. My knees have always gone snap, crackle, pop (will I get sued by Kelloggs?) when getting up from a low chair, but my left started popping on hard pedal strokes. No pain yet (at all) but I'm seeing a sports doctor on Friday.

PS: I love vinyl, but I have to admit I go with the music server 99% of the time. All my CDs are recorded as FLACs so the quality is pretty good but listining to the organic sound of vinyl sends me.

Consider your self lucky if indeed you are older and are only now experiencing knee problems :(

I've got a knee cooler and it's the best thing ever. A container of ice water and a velcro wrapped bag that secures around the knee and fills up with the cold water. Works great.

I suspect a lot of us have a very handy and inexpensive knee cooler available today…

Au natural... That's the way to do it.

Unfortunately for me it's just a nasty freezing rain kind of day. Not the fun stuff.
