Ok guys admiit it, someone has to have first hand knowlege of fleece booties or something other than wool socks to wear around the house to keep your feet warm.

What are you guys doing for housewear/loungewear around the house to keep your feet warm....my wool socks aren't cutting it.

Ugg stopped making the fleece ankle high slippers I wore for years so I found the equivalent at VermontCountryStore.com for $65 and am wearing them right now. The key to them other than fleece is that the soles are walkable so I can go down to the mail box or take the dog out without changing into shoes.

Ankle high is important for feeling warm. Drafty feet half covered by fleece don't cut it.

I like the North Face down booties, though sometimes they are a bit too hot.

I have these LL Bean Moccasins and they are too warm... If I wear them more than 15 minutes or so my feet start to sweat, regardless of the temp.

What temperature do you folks keep your houses that you need wool socks + down booties?!

They had some camo ones on sale last year for $35, but no mas. Love mine.

Now just these normal ones:

But these camo ones could do the job just fine:

I had a pair of Patagonia multi-colored fleece socks that hold the unofficial world record for sliding on our hardwood floors. People would borrow them for that purpose.
Marginal gains...
Sadly they’ve vanished to dryer heaven.
It's usually boat shoes for me.

I wear warmish socks inside of Birkenstock Super Skippers. Birkenstocks in general are awesome, and these provide a bit more warmth than my warmer weather Arizonas.

Edit: I got them at Sierra Trading Post, so the pricing was pretty good.

I have Columbia omni heat slippers, kind like a clog, very warm. My house is a converted grist mill from the 1700s and has a, uh, variable heating system so I need all the warmth I can get. Highly recommended and have a sole to go to the mailbox or wherever.

Cool - do you have any pics to share?

Is the stream still running? If so, it would be super-neat (and probably a hassle, but still neat) to find a way to extract some energy from the water to generate electricity.

Acorn slippers are greatness. And I'm not a slipper guy.

Raynaud's disease. Do you have it? My sister does and constantly has this problem.

Smartwool used to make their own branded slippers, I've got 2 pair and they're the greatest things ever. Unfortunately, they seem to have stopped making them. These are the closest things still available in terms of having smartwool lining:

I've got a pair, and they're also pretty excellent. Nice sturdy sole for quick runs outside or to the basement.

I have a pair of Sorel felted wool inserts from an old pair of snow boots. I sewed on some heavy leather for soles when I started wearing throught the bottom and now I think they are about the best slippers that could be had.

I have it, esp in my hands. People laugh when I put on long finger gloves when it gets below 70.

I wear these plus thin wool cycling socks. They last years and years.......still haven't begun to wear out my first pair.

The problem with "plain" slippers is that they don't have any arch support at all.
