Actually the downtown area of the city stinks (like smells bad). The city is dirty and not really as nice as most European cities.

The picture looks normal on an iPhone and on my computer if I right-click and view image in a new tab. Based on the road marking it looks like you are looking down on Lincoln Blvd though it could be El Camino Del Mar.

The first time I went to San Francisco I spent the drive to hotel marveling at how beautiful the area is. It's so lovely I wondered why everyone doesn't want to live there. Then I experienced my first SF rush-hour and realized everyone already did.

I am new in S.F. I live in PAC Heights and walk most everywhere I go except for my morning ride that is very safe with protected bike lanes ,in ten minutes you go from city to country it is phenomenal riding here.
over the bridge and it is another world .
Rob hill I do a loop there that includes a series of off road trails my ride today was 50/50 road and off road (gravel ,dirt )
We all live in beauty , if we take the time to notice it .

The Great Hwy was shut down today for cars to clear off the sand that was starting to build up. Perfect riding weather, sunny in the 50's slight breeze.

Yes, he'll be closing shop come January, selling his inventory to another shop. Sad but that's what the realty market has done to the city once your lease expires. Times have changed and there are dozens of shops through out the city and I don't think he wants to spend the energy required at this point of his life. I'll be selling some of his vintage stuff via Ebay for him.

I dunno, I envy the riding environ you Bay Area inhabitants are blessed with. "blistering cold" for you lucky blokes might be descriptive of temps in the mid-30F's.

But don't mind me 'cos I'm just a crybaby when the weather turns cold. What a downstate NYer thinks is cold (mid teens and above) is not worthy of a scoff in places where winter has real meaning.

Too bad, one of the 'old school' shops, owners who sees that's it's 'just too hard'. I completely understand..I was lucky enough to sell but a 'few' times from 2010-2011-2012, I seriously considered just liquidating and leaving.

Throw in one of these and I'm in heaven like Paul Walker-figureatively speaking of course.

Oh, and the smoking hot blonde in the upper left corner. Have pictures of her too.

Glad to see you are riding, Fixed. SF is indeed a beautiful place to ride a bike. Lots of nice roads to explore over here in the east bay too-- just take the Bart over to Rockridge and head up into the hills.

While the air temperature has been freezing recently, the ocean temperature does not drop as dramatically...I'm sure it's down a few degrees, but it's likely that it's warmer than the air temp currently. Water has a fairly high specific heat capacity and the ocean is very big, a little cold air is not going to change the water temp much.

its going to be a very sad day when Len is not around to work his magic on wheels!
