I was looking forward to the first ride of the holiday bike for months and it was just as fun as I remembered. I'm currently working on a holiday song playlist and can always use suggestions.

So far I'm planning on:

Merry Christmas (I don't want to fight tonight) - Ramones
Kinks - Father Christmas
RUN DMC - Christmas Time in Hollis Queens
Bowie's duet of Little Drummer Boy
How Do You Spell Hannukah? - Latke Clan
Twisted Sister - Come all ye Faithful
Chuck Berry - Run Rudolph Run
Darlene Love - Christmas Baby Please come home
Beach Boys - The man with all the toys
The Sonics - Don't Believe in Christmas
Otis Redding - Merry Christmas Baby
Pretenders - 2000 miles
Pogues - fairy tale of NY
Tom petty - Christmas all over again
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - All I want for Christmas

What else is essential? Please nothing moldy.

Nice. It's actually "Run, Run, Rudolph" and Keef's version is pretty good too. ;)

How about "Feliz Navidad" from Manic Hispanic or Los Straightjackets?

Definitely "Sleigh Ride" by the Ronettes.

How can you leave out "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses?

I like that song, but it seems to annoy everyone else...it was an intentional omission and it is a little bit tired.

Anything from Sufjan Stevens' Christmas albums, Marah has a good Christmas album, and anything from the Charlie Brown album. at least that's what I listened to when putting up the tree.

I know EVERYONE loves Sufjian Stevens, but I just can't stand him. Definitely on the Vince Guaraldi track...and I even already have it on a few playlists.

Popular back in Blighty:

Wizzard - I wish it could be christmas everyday
Wham - Last christmas. Never liked Wham until George Micheal started acting leud in LA bathrooms, took all that boy band goodness away and made him a bit cooler.
Happy Christmas - John Lennon

I always liked the Band Aid song - Do They Know it's Christmas, the charity song organised by Bob Geldof from the Boom Town Rats.

Are those lights battery powered or mechanically powered via cranks? :)

Battery powered LEDs...we're getting an LED menorah for it as well.
