I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and managed to get a ride in over the holiday weekend. A few of us from base met up the day after and went for a mountain bike ride. We had varying levels of experience one bike as well as on trail so we would regroup and talk about the up coming sections. Some of the trail is now hike a bike and because it is fall on a sub tropical island most of it never truly dries out. It was a fun ride and one of the group members edited a video together that does a good job of showing the trail. FYI- I'm the one in the blue long sleeves and white helmet on my Waltworks.

Enjoy

Very cool, wish my head was into cycling instead of the "other stuff" when I was in the military, like you I was in the Air Force (Police).

Great video, how deep is that drop off at 0:30-0:35? Looks like the Grand Canyon!

Familiarity with the trail really leads to a smooth run!

The canyon is 20-25 feet deep. Not something you want to get close to when your going down. You can see the bottom of it a the 3 min mark. All the red dirt is the beginning of the trail. About 1.5 miles of climbing then the trail cuts into woods. All these trails are multi-purpose so we see people on dirt biked and 4x4s out there so the trail tends to erode and change weekly. Plus when it rains it turns into a river.

I'm sure there are. They seem to be everywhere from the briefing we get. Best to ride in a group.

Good to see you are getting some riding in. How do you like the new environs compared to Minot?

I managed a couple of hours late in the day on Thursday test riding a "new" bike that I finished putting together for a forum member that morning.

Lets just say I'm not missing Miont. The island is really cool. Lots to do and see plus it doesn't get below 50 outside. I love where I live but work is about the same as it was in Minot. Anyhow here ares some pictures for those who see snow right now.

Not a bad place to clean my bike
