Karen said on one charity ride they were going up a long hill and the guy next to her started singing "The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain to see what he could see..."

She rode away from him but too late, she'd caught it. She said it was the one time she wanted to punch somebody out after a ride.

I have spent hours cycling or mowing the lawn without being able to get the damn Zit Remedy classic "Everybody Wants Something" out of my head!

Bummer, eh?

Funny, because that isn't even on his new greatist hits album.

I've gotten Elton John "Your Song" stuck lately.

The worst 2 were some nasty hiphop song
Ain't that just the way that life goes down or something like that,
really catchy tune that I don't like, I don't even KNOW how it got there.
The other I am loath to mention because it will rear it's ugly head and
I guarantee that some of you will catch it.
I'll describe it:
Disney song that is sung continuously by cute early animatronics
while you ride a cute boat. Originally seen at the 1964 Worlds fair
and I'm sure you've seen it because it's a small . . . . afterall isn't it?

It's the worst when the tune pops in, and you can't even remember all the words! Your like that skit from SNL when they mumble up until the part they know!

Going up on long climbs:
I am leaving on jet plane was one of my worst ones.

When riding with Too Tall, I like to sing "Hey Big Spender" but change it to "Hey Big Fella" (he hates it), yes Too Tall you can hit me later.

When I feel that I am about to die on the bike, I recite the Mourner's Kadish in Hebrew.

Too often on really hard rides "If I Only Had a Brain" takes over. I just can't help but whistle.

The Wiggles are not welcome in my house. Or the big purple dinosaur. But there was that week when most every commute was ridden to the tempo of the Rolie Polie Olie theme...

As some of you know, I teach elementary music. Every spring I get my 4th graders ready for their Michigan Musical. One of their favorite songs is called "I Never Will Sail". The kids beg to sing it everytime they come to class. I'm so sick of that song by the time their performance rolls around.

The chorus is "Ho, Ho, Ho, He, He, He. I never will sail on those Great Lakes, for that'd be the end of me." So, in the midst of my April 20 minute wattage test I had that song in my head the entire time; that is until I hit my VO2 Max during the last 1 1/2 minutes or so...

I'm always so thrilled when their performance rolls around and I don't have to hear and teach those songs anymore.

I've been stuck since September with "The Rattl'n Bog" in my head. An Irish diddy that starts out real slow and builds on lyrics, then recites them backwards at a tonge twisting speed. Towards the end you don't have time to breath, I've been trying to master it word for word without drooling all over myself. I can do it word for word, but I need a bib!

Actually I had forgotten about it for a few weeks, now it's again stuck in my head! Thanks doof.

A particularly nasty episode... was one day while riding with my single brother... I told him that he needed to make the acquaintance of some of the nice-looking female riders that do our cycling route... so I remembered this old R&B/Disco song... I don't know the name... but it goes something like this:

"What's your name? What's your number?... [repeats, over and over and over]

Couldn't get it out of my head...

I can tell it's going to be a rough ride when "the Cat's in the Cradle" gets stuck. I can practicly time intervals by the loops of that song over and over.

But was at work. Saw a new roll of toilet paper in the RR with the Mfg. name; Penny Lane. Had the Beatles Penny Lane on the brain for the next couple of hours.

Used to torment a friend of mine who can't stand Suzanne Vega. We worked together; and while at work in the warehouse, I would whistle Suzanne Vega's hit tune from way back. Would really make his day.

Just got the following message from my brother and thought it was appropriate for this thread:

From my brother:

"The kids got me a shower radio for Christmas.

This morning I was subjected to KC & The Sunshine Band
and Eddie Money. Back to back.

Can someone just put a bullet in my head right now? I
really don't like the direction this Friday is taking.

I'm pretty sure Nostradamus wrote that the world will
end on the day where "Get Down Tonight" and "Take Me
Home Tonight" are played in succession because that's
the magic combination to open the 9th gate of Hell.
So - there it is."

to get any song thats stuck in your head out, but there are some issues with it. Its kinda like using methadone for herion addiction. All you have to do is sing "Its a Small World" to yourself and that old bothersome song will be replaced.

I'm proud to say we are so over that era. Now he loves to watch car and motorcycle races from the Speed Channel.
