View Full Version : Stupid Stem Question

Ok. This is probably a stupid question, but here goes...I ordered a new Thomson seatpost and was thinking about getting a Thomson stem to match. I plan to install it in the upside down position so it angles slightly upwards. It says it's reversible. Unlike other stems, however, the lettering "Thomson" is only stamped on it in one direction. That would put the word "Thomson" upside down. Obviously that would look stupid. Do they make a road stem that is truely reversible with lettering in both directions?

Sorry, I meant does Thomson make one? I currently have a reversible FSA SizeMore, but I was hoping to go with a Thomson to match my seatpost.

jckid,

I own both Thomson style stems. The road stem has the reversible logo, the mountain type does not. Here is the reversible model.

Yes and Yes....kidding ;)

The older X2's (like mine) have lettering in both directions, on both sides of the stem.

They do, in fact, make a +/- 10 degree "road" stem:

31.8 only, tho.

Interestingly, enough, here:

http://www.lhthomson.com/elite_stem_sizes.asp

They list Elite ("classic" Thomson style) stems, with negative angles. Maybe that's what you want?
