The most fun is fishing the nipple thru the rim, into the spoke hole, once laced, it's just a wheel.

Valentino was once heard to say, when he first started making rims, that if he knew it was so hard, he wouldn't have done it.

I've never seen a large scale wheel building assembly line that puts grease between the nipples and the rim. I've seen videos from all the big names. The lacing portion of wheelbuilding would take too long for them to do it right. I don't think I've even seen any lubrication for the spoke threads either, but that would be easy enough to do.

I had one of those, had to dump it at a loss on CL when I went to tubeless :rolleyes:
