Simply the best piece of music ever written, whether you are of the faith or not the joy expressed within that composition is immutable.

Very nice; have seen that one before on www.wimp.com.

If you like stuff like this you should check it out; my favorite site after a stressful day at work...

Moving and beautiful.

Pity some can't just experience it without bringing out their iPhones.

Wonderful cap off to a great day I had, Thank You for posting. I like how the little girl sat in front for the whole performance I am sure that is a moment she won't ever forget.

Simply the best piece of music ever written...

I just played that clip on my TV for my wife and two kids...my kids have never heard the 9th symphony before. When it was done, my 3 year old said "play that again daddy, I like that music."

my wife and I noticed and at the same time, (not knocking the US mind you), we asked aloud, "in how many towns and cities in the US could its citizens do the same?". I don't know the lyrics but am going to learn.

I went backpacking with a couple friends in Nepal for about a month. Often, after dinner in some small villages, we were treated to local folk songs. After their performances, we were asked to sing folk songs from the US. All we could think of were Christmas songs, and theme songs from TV shows (Gilligans Island, Beverly Hillbillies, etc). I felt woefully inadequate and realized how much 'culture' we lack. I came back and learned American Pie.

I am at the tail end of a 12 hour day that is following too many days in a row of working. This was what I needed to finish the day and go home to my lovely wife and nice house. I started smiling half way through and was almost laughing by the end.

Like that old comercial said "Thanks, I needed that."

It was beautifully done. Clearly, not a public flash mob thing. Looks like a professionally done feel-good commercial piece for a bank promotion. Had to have needed multiple takes to get all of the camera angles and close-ups. I don't want to be a wet blanket but I'll bet the girl was in on it from the start and she's probably some famous actress to boot. Still, I watched it twice and my wife loved it too so reality just doesn't matter.

Plus it's the anthem of the European Union.

We can't have any worship of that on this side of the pond, now can we?

Wasn't it also the theme song for "Everybody Loves Raymond?"
