That is really awesome. I like all the attention to detail down to the saddle and even the ritchey grips.

Very nice but Grant wouldn't approve. It doesn't have lugs, a 1 inch headset, 130mm rear hub, thumbshifters, or a rigid fork.

Very cool.

Bridgestone/Bontrager mashup.

That's what I was thinking! I think the tapered head tube would give grant a head ache.

Agreed, if you are going to go as far as that saddle, over the bar friction shifters would be the call. First gen Deore with the deer logo, I still run them on one of my mtn bikes and love em.

Absolutely fabulous. I'd swap a straight bar for the riser bar, but it's damn near perfect.

same here...thats a sweet looking ride...the rear bridge doesn't look like it gives enough clearance though. anything knobby looks like it would rub.

I like it, though this is my favorite "tribute" mountain bike.

Other than the paint job, that doesn't have much in common with an MB-1. The MB-1 was lugged, had double seatstays, and came with a rigid fork and cantilever brakes.

Owning an MB-3 (first mtb bought in late 80's), I'd buy a used MB-1 in a heartbeat. Some ask ridiculous $$$ for them, esp the MB-0's.

That's a pretty cool bike, I have to say.

That's a cool bike, even if it's not strictly faithful to the original MB-1. Hell, the idea that someone even thought to do this is pretty damn cool.

As someone who rode Bontragers for 15 years, I love that rear triangle, but it would be nicer if it had some proper tire clearance.

I really dig it. Would love someday to have a similar homage to a yellow RB-1.

Totally, but sometimes it's all about the feeling and the paint on this really grabbed me.

But then, I'm pretty tempted to get my next bike sprayed up as a tribute to my old DBS Apache....

Clean ride...

I emailed Chris Herting at 3D Racing about building an aluminum road bike for me and painting it in the old school Yeti colors. Chris built the first Yeti's. Never heard back from him.

I've got a mostly original mb1 in the shed. 49cm. It was one cool bike in its day.
