Anyone ever seen one of these before?

Sheldon's site of course has some info on it:

Strange things!

The Alenax Transbar system was a fixture at the trade shows in the '80s. The expensive display included video, attractive models, and a pounding disco theme song.

I am one of the few accomplished cyclists who ever stepped over one. It is the most incredibly bogus cycling mechanism ever conceived, and it would take more time than I care to spend to describe the complete spectrum of bogusness.

I only wish I had found the investor before Alenax (or whoever) did. I could have sold him anything.

Here's more from my own website. (http://sonic.net/~ckelly/Seekay/weird_bike_stuff.htm)

That is an awesome site, but I'll tell you, I'd buy a Hydro Cycle right now, that dude fishing? Totally Zen!

The hike shop I work part time at had 2 of these. The founder thought they were different at the bike show one year... Atlantic city... Anyway. We put one together and rode it around. The other stayed in the box. Not sure whatever happened to them.

I just LOVE the BodySail - must do wonders for your back.

But you just can't beat the Buddy Bike - "Come Together" Hmmmm,
