So… this is something I know nothing about… using small corks in tubular rims to plug the spoke holes to create a uniform rim bed.
Can someone fill me in?

Small corks are placed in the spoke eyelets and cut to fit or sanded down flat. This keeps glue out of the eyelets/spoke nipples. It also is said to make a more uniform gluing surface. I have also seen it used on clincher rims under rim strips as a extra measure of protection as well. DT used to supply/sell corks which would fit the eyelets. I still have some here. As mentioned before kind of similar to Velocity velo plugs.
