Yep, Jason. Did my Turbomatic II (very difficult saddle) to match my bar tape and it turned out fantastic. He charges way too little as well.

Define reasonable. If you're looking for something much cheaper that Jason, you'll probably wind up doing yourself. It can be time consuming to get it right.

Not too many folks in the biz of recovering saddles, it's not easy to do.

I emailed over a month ago and didn't hear back, so I was wondering if there were other options.

Local upholstery shop, especially one specializing in boats, cars, or motorcycles, should be able to help.

I plan on using Jason for a couple nicer saddles, but I'm going the above option on an SLR for my MTB.

Something reasonably priced.

I had my first Turbo II recover done by a local re-upholstery shop with great rep (not on bike saddle however) using a black material they had in stock. They did an OK job for the price, but the underside finish detailing was a bit rough. I then decided to have Jason do another Turbo II in a special order, color match material for a new build assuming he would be much more expensive than the upholstery shop. Turns out the price was the same and the quality was off the charts better.

In my experience Jason's communication was very good and timely considering he's a one-man shop. Maybe try another email or a PM here ?

IMHO, he overreacted and expected too much from an email response. It seems he didn't really know what he wanted but the tailor expected him to do so. He should have gone over to the storefront instead.

Just tried to do it myself despite being very average with my hands. I had an old Concor saddle that my butt really appreciates. :)

Did it with lamb suede leather and Continental tubular cement. (left some glue spots as my hands rapidly got dirty)

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't chose the suede finish  Hope it will be better with a bit of patina. I like Fizik Soft Touch bartapes so I wanted something that look similar.

The writer was completely in the wrong.

It's very simple to not become this guy: if someone doesn't want to do business with you, leave him alone.
