I know everyone has favorites. I'm looking for a place to give good adult clothing, dishes, utensils, cookbooks, etc that actually gets them to the neediest people.
I have gotten flyers from a few organizations, mainly VOA and Easter Seals. I just want the stuff to get in the hands of someone who can use it. I don't have time to drive all over to donate, and these are willing to pick up. I have already donated good appliances to Habitat for Humanity, but have found that some charities are picky, for example, we had a perfectly good, but dated bathroom vanity with working sink and faucet...couldn't donate, went to the Free on CL section.
tl;dr: are VOA and Easter Seals decent charities to donate to? If not, who is? I just want the stuff in the hands of those more needy.
