Does anyone still make a high quality polished silver rim? Everything is black from the limited search I've done. I'm looking at lower profile rims.

Good one.

You know the search hierarchy is:

Paceline
Google
Yahoo
Bing

H plus son makes the archetype in a polished 700c rim but good luck finding one in the USA especially in a 28 hole. In fact if anyone knows where I can find a couple at a reasonable price please let me know.

Whadya know. Good ol' Velomine does builds of both the H+ and the Velocity A23. Both a tad heavy but they are 23 mm.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Can't get more classic than the Mavic Open Pro, which is definitely available in polished silver.

I'm going to say half of MSN employees, at the most.

Of course, I'm willing to stand corrected on these figures...are you hearing NSA? (of course you are, now out with the stats on this).

Now back to the tyre-some discussions :bike:

They are hard to find. I finally found some this summer and bought 32/28; hubs are ordered.

Not even sure where I got them. Bike Hub Store, maybe?

Another polished silver ring to consider: Sun CR 18s.
A cheap, relatively light modified box section rim.

If you're not too heavy......The IRD Cadence (made by Kinlin) in regular front and OC rear, at 390 advertised grams (clincher), make a nice wheel. Not overly square or boxy. Less than 23 MM, but that don't bother me. Comes in silver....24,28,32, etc. Low price also ($55). I have a Record hub wheelset with these in 32. Very light for a 32 hole wheel set. I weigh a tad under 160, and have never had a problem with them. Of course....Got a good local wheel builder.

Don't think are extinct the problem is that you might be looking clinchers and there is plenty of silver NOS tubular rims moving around :P

but isn't that a painted finish?

On a side note, why do we always take photos from the drive side,
wouldn't a photo from the other side better display the frame?

Really pretty bike there dave.

I don't think it's painted but to be honest I'm not sure. I don't have one here to look at so I can't check it out. They look good though.
