O.T. Cell Phone PDA - treo 700 vs 650...

OK - I am going to dump Sprint as they refuse to deal... I presently have a treo 600 and have been pleased... but the allure of the 650 and 700 may be too much to resist.

Any forumites play with the 700? (windows mobile OS)

How does it compare to the 650?

Reviews online seem mixed...

Verizon seems to be the best carrier in the MD/DC/VA area (coverage) and the slight increase in cost seems worth the signal...

I have been very happy with my 650, but now that the 700 is out I (of course) have been looking at it.

It seems to me that the biggest difference is the newer operating system.
I think it has some faster internet speeds too...

I've been looking at the 700. It seems pretty hopeless, actually. I'm going to get a 650 or a Blackberry 8700c.

I have been extremely happy with the 650. We use Sprint, and the only issue is picking up email when in remote areas that are off their system (roam). Otherwise, no problems at all, and I'm usually in several different cities each week.

I've had it for 1 week and as a 1st time user (PDA/Phone) I'm impressed.I use and PAY Verizon for the full EVDO broadband service plan,pricey but fast.As with any piece of electronics 1st release you end up being a beta tester so Google as many forum groups as you can.This can give you a better idea of early problems as well as solutions to them.Of course if you can wait 6 months I bet a lot of the issues with this device will be solved as well as new software developed.It is not a Palm in the sense that it runs W05 and to many faithful Palm users this seems to be a reverse step(more button pushing).I dont have the Treo650 bkgrd so everything is new to me.I have a Plantronics 640 bluetooth headset on the way and if it works well I think the package will be a success.Here are a sample of forums and there are more...

WAIT for the Motorola M7. This links to the CNET review (which says Motorola Q, but i think they have changed it). Its about half the size of the treo, and seems like it is going to be the new standard.

the 650 for verizon is looking better and better. If a 700 for palm comes out...that would be something. I personally like palm OS because of it's simplicity...and for a phone that is what I want.

The 700 does look snazy...
