Back to one of my favorite cycling subjects...Pegoretti! Check out this great Marcelo and it's cool paint scheme!

http://www.tiramisu.co.uk/sale/marcelo_bike.htm

It's for sale from Tiramisu Imports. I'm not affiliated with Tiramisu in any way.

Also, does anyone have any photos or links of San Patrignano bikes? They are built in the Dolomites by residents of a drug rehabilitation clinic. You may be scratching your head, but they build some beautiful bikes. Dario Pegoretti is their mentor.

Hey a cow bike! I love the udders on the chain stays. Too bad they aren't 3D.

Seriously though.....this paint job is not an example of what I'd call "genius". IMHO of course.

I usually agree with you guys, and I have seen some Pegs I really like, but this is not one of them. In the eye of the beholder, perhaps I need new glasses.

I like Pegoretti paint schemes a lot because I like the way Dario sees the frame as a canvas for artwork. True, there are some schemes that are better than others, but at least they are all unique.

The paint scheme on that Marcelo doesn't look to me like one of Dario's ideas. I'm familiar with his work, and I bet he wouldn't like such a design. Maybe it was the customer who asked it to be like that.
Dario, say something if you see this message. I can't believe you went for this pseudo-African, safari-style stuff.

I didn't mean to create such controversy over a paint scheme. I'm a big fan of Dario's work and I guess they all look good to me.

The paint schemes that he displayed at this years EICMA were really nice. I think most people would agree.

I would like to point out that I have no longer any connection with the bike shop at San Patrignano, where I offered my expertise as a consultant in the field of frame building until 2003.

Since I don't agree with their current technical choices, I must stress that I am not their "mentor". I do not want to be connected to this company under any circumstance.

It goes without saying that I greatly admire the commmitment of the kids who worked there with me while I was serving as a consultant. I am absolutely grateful for all that I learned from them about life in the time I spent there.

I apologize for mistakingly refering to you as the "mentor" for the San Patrignano shop. I had seen the article on San Patrignano at the kinopio.com website and I thought that you were still consulting to them. I meant no harm.
