I just got a set of "newer" tape. It is more plasticy feeling. Mine could have been sitting in heat or something for a bit, but it didn't feel the same.

I've no experience with the "new" Benotto tape. I'm a die-hard fan of the old stuff (still have a few packages).

Just from the photos here the new stuff looks thicker and less flexible (a vast judgement based, as stated, on no experience).
