My Cinelli bars have developed a small hairline crack right in the center.
The crack is a little less than 1/2" long. If I apply a lot of pressure to the drops I can see the crack flexing.

For now I have taken them off the bike and they are sitting on the shelf.

Question is what to do ? Can they be ridden as is ? Or is it possible to get them repaired ? Or just keep 'em on the shelf ?

Some pics - hopefully visible of the crack circled in green are attached.

If you can see the crack expand and contract as u put pressure on the bars it's time for the dumpster. I sure wouldn't ride them.

Cut them in half with a hacksaw. Don't breathe the dust. Marvel at the interior construction. Then toss them in the trash.

Or, just toss them in the trash.

What size? I have one here that's 42/120 without that silver on it. I haven't put it on a bike in years since it's too long. No crack.

email me if you're interested.

Thanks all..

They are 42/120... Email on it's way.

For now I think I'll turn these bars into wall art..

If you are lucky the problem is the paint, just sand it and look whats under the paint, the other thing is... it does creak or something? Carbon when cracked starts creaking right away, same with steel and other materials. I would sand down the paint to see what you can find under it.

Good luck.
