Never heard of this stuff before, and it's pretty pricey, but the materials look great.

Hoping someone has some first-hand experience to convince me to buy or pass....

Awesome, thanks. Looks like when I searched I looked for "Sorensen" not "Sorenson"

The bizarre choice of pictures for marketing tell me more than I need to know.

If Rapha is "epic", is Brandt-Sorenson "double epic"? If that guy is wearing his cycling shoes and fires the gun, he's going to end up on his butt.

and deaf. No ear or eye protection? weak.

Though I look forward to new team positions in addition to domestiques, grimpeurs, rouleurs and puncheurs.... the shooter and the axe man.

Would make those early flat stages of the TDF more entertaining.

That picture really scares me!

Those who've gone shooting for game...do you wear such tight fitting clothes, is there ever a need for such hideous pattern apparel? I'm not even going to bother asking about cycling caps, what seems to be chamois shorts, and an axe!

Only a matter of time until we have super-quad-times-a-million epic. Like car tail fins in the 50's and early 60's - if a little is good, then wretched excess must be best.

Brandt-Sorenson? Kid I knew in high schol almost died of that. Before they knew what it was, it was real hard to diagnose.

Doesn't it almost always occur in a particular socio-economic group? I think they discovered it's caused by a virus, but there's a hereditary component too. . .

Probably the current worst offender in a long list of stupid Assos names. I can't believe they manage to say that with a straight face.

Me too. That guys cheeks is not welded to the stock like it should be. He'll never hit anything with that form. :D

Why is he carrying an axe if he's got chainsaws on his spandex?

"COMPLIMENTARY SHIPPING WORLDWIDE!"

For $400 for a pair of bib shorts, I would expect them to ship them to me for free even if I'm on Mars.

In their defense, there's actually some not-outrageously priced things, as well as a good blog and some cycling advocacy content on the site.
The whole chainsaw jersey (which is a fundraiser) photo series is so ill-conceived and out of place that it almost seems like the guys from teamjva http://internationale.teamjva.com/ websitebombed them

I have a thick jersey of theirs. It was pretty inexpensive on sale and so I thought I'd try it. It's fine...not the best thing I've ever owned, but fine. However, the marketing makes me want to fold it up and leave it in the closet.

I believe so. It came up the last time this was discussed. (which might have been "across the hall")

Give him a break. He was just trying to add street cred to his brand. After that dorkish photo spread in the woods he needed all the help he could get. Of course, it might have worked better if he doped to race the biggest races as a pro in Europe instead of to race on weekends as a cat 1 in the U.S....

I have quite a few pieces of their gear. All of it is custom made off of my measurements. Even my leg and arm warmers are. I needed new arm warmers because no one made any long enough and skinny enough. He only made them in white material at the time, but he ordered some dark gray material and had custom arm and leg warmers in my hands in less than three weeks including shipping from LA to NY. They are even left/right specific...who else does that? The waterproof vest is the best piece of clothing I own...and I if I could get him to make me a custom jacket I would burn my Rapha.

Your experiences may vary...but I hardly think someone's past indiscretions affect his and his wife's ability to sew. But you might as well bring it up anyway...

Thanks for being one of the first to actually chime in with first-hand experience of the clothing.

Since when is actual user data important, when we're making fun of something? ;)

Besides, anything that's that expensive has to be great, maybe even epic.

Yep, he's a brand and he's a craftsman (an artist, even, as he has a fine arts degree). Kind of like some well respected frame builders loved around these parts.

Anyway, there is value added with his apparel. As Shock mentions, he's a responsive dude. If you like dealing with individuals and place a high value on that hit him up.

What frame builder has an art degree?
