Serotta Serial number

I looked on some old posts and there was mention of the BB and the steerer tube as possible locations but I cannot see traces of it in either place on my 80 something Colorado.Any other ideas?

Bottom of the BB and backside of the steerer a few inches up from the crown -every bike of this era had numbers in those two spots.

The stamping a can be shallow and get filled with paint but they should be there. Have you looked at the steerer?
