I thought the weightweenies use the Cane Creek AER Norglide stuff anyways, where the headset en tout is 22g.

I don't know how FSA continues to exist, product failure after product failure, I guess they just have huge OEM power and sell their goods for next to nothing.

I used to be that way. Then I went to weightweenies anonymous.

Hmm?
And I just switched over to a bike that takes a King headset so I could stop playing with disposable bearings.

Norglide X2 Bearing Provides Over 450 Hours of Smooth Steering.

Looking at the picture, there seems to be way too many bearings in there, seems prime for tuning, simply pop open the seal and shake a few of those boat-anchor balls out of there, easily an extra gram or two can be shaved. I would recommend taking about 90% of them out and then adding them back one at a time until the crunchy noise disappears.;)

My guess is OEM. Any moving parts I've used from them are pretty much garbage. A buddy does have the FSA Energy bars, and those do seem pretty decent for alloy bars with a deep-ish drop. Their Omega Compacts don't seem terrible either.

But ye gods...cranks, stems...ugh.

Gram warfare....

Remember the mantra: incremental improvement, incremental improvement, incremental improvement, incremental improvement, incremental improvement, incremental improvement, incremental improvement,...ad nauseum.

Modern American businesses are like sharks; if they're not moving forward, they die. It doesn't matter what is "improved" or whether the improvement is substantive or even a real improvement. It just has to be "new and improved" on a regular basis.

It's marketing, not product development.

I like the use of the term "comparable," as in "comparable durability." We are able to compare the durability of this new headset with that of actually durable and reliable headsets. Heck, we can even measure the difference. And you can guess what it is.
