My family and I are visiting the Napa Valley in early February. We are staying in a lovely hotel in Rutherford. I understand that Napa offers fantastic cycling.

Can anyone recommend a bike shop in Napa that rents decent road bikes? Any particular routes/group rides that are worth exploring? I will be there from a Thursday to a Saturday. Thanks in advance.

Here's a link to the local club- http://www.eaglecyclingclub.org/. I'm not a member as I live in Sonoma (the next valley over), but I see them out on the road all the time and they seem like a good group of folks with a pretty active ride schedule.

As far as local shops go, you might want to check with Bicycle Works in Napa at 707.253.7000 or St. Helena Cyclery in, ummm, St. Helena at 707.963.7736. If neither has what you're looking for, your best bet is probably going to be stopping at a shop in the City (if you're flying into SFO), Berkeley (if you're flying into Oakland), or Davis (if you're flying into Sacramento) on the way up to Rutherford.

I hope you have a great trip and that the weather cooperates. We're all feeling pretty waterlogged around here at the moment.

Cheers,
Chris
