All of a sudden, the "need" for a set of carbon fixed gear wheels is calling to me. Ridiculous for sure, but we all need to dream. What's tugging at your wallet currently??

Are we talking things that are purely 'dreams' or things that are in the cross-hairs and you're just waiting for the signal to pull the trigger?

I guess I'll just do both after thinking about it for a few minutes.

Bike related:
Actually need: Rapha Bib Knickers
In the crosshairs (but will probably wait hold off for a while): Ti stem
Dreaming: Used (Hampsten or Pegoretti) frame to build up as a project bike

Non-bike related:
Actually need: New tires and 60K service for my car, new smartphone (Galaxy S4)

In the crosshairs (but, like above, not imminent): Hamilton Thin-o-matic watch

Dreaming: IWC Portofino 8-Day Handwound

This.

I might prefer 650b but I won't be picky as long as it has these:

+1 on the fire crest 202. Damn nice wheelset.
As it stands I want this garmin mount but I've got a Perfectly nice red K-Edge red mount that works perfectly. I'm just a sucker for GOLD bike parts. Don't know why?

I have a soft rack for you if you need it. I bought it in July and used it once.

You're gonna need some wax, too.

Surley Long Haul Trucker

a wet suit or dry suit because I really like my neoprene booties! I started commercial clamming six weeks ago and find it hard to walk around in muddy conditions at low tided in hip boots but with booties and underarmor I avoid clammer's itch and get around much easier. Not sure what I should wear for the winter clamming though but I do know that hip boots in deep mud suck me in deeper.

Upgrades to my SV650. SS brake lines, wave rotor and new break pads for the rear wheel, ZX10r rear shock, heavier fork oil and stiffer springs for the front.

A girlfriend/FWB would be nice too but if she gets in the way of my freedom then that will have to be put on hold:hello:

I also need to get past a lot of hardship with this new found clamming gig. I really like clamming but my cycling has taken a backseat to it because clamming is a really physical job!

P.S I would love to make another two wheeled investment in a Kawasaki H2 750! Any year will do.

Agreed! I'm lusting for less lusting.

HOWEVER.... :)

Bike related, I would still love to find a nice 57 cm ST01 Colnago EP.

Car related, I would like to find a reasonably priced, extremely clean, and properly updated long hood 911 OR an all original, minty 87-89 Carrera coupe.

Outside of that, it would be nice to have 4 day work weeks and 3 day weekends.

Groans implied.

Rapha bringing to market the F/W stuff they provided for that TDF winning team they sponsor. Notably a thin long sleeved race jersey and at least one of the gilets intended for use on the bike. Taking cues from a pro team to utilize in a line called pro team is so avant garde it just might be.......actually usable.

Carbon wheels that brake better than aluminum, replete with longer wearing brake tracks, in wet conditions.

Fall gravel group rides to last until the Winter ones start.

Actually happening: getting a Chorus group for my first ever new bike. More than I deserve.

Lust: thinking about a custom cross race bike next year that can double as an offroader with clearance for fat tires, with the 10s hydro disc SRAM shifters - just discovered those on their site.

Peaceful time. To sit and do absolutely nothing. Or ride. Or assemble some longstanding bike projects.

Either would be just fine.

I'm lusting for:

Time at our cabin with my family (hopefully with some snow)
Some nice long gravel road rides
Waking up to a rainy day when I don't have to work

Oh, yeah, and a nice newer Dodge Dakota QuadCab 4x4 to replace my 2001. I don't really need it, but it'd be nice.

As far as bikes are concerned, I'd be embarrassed to lust for anything more.

so many great bikes out there...would love another rock lobster cross bike but I'm getting ready to send a Ron Cooper to the painter...and I have a bunch of parts sitting around...many used but in near new condition. I still need to figure out colors and then wait a couple of months for the paint. also plan on building a couple of wheels. I do need to get some consumables...brake pads, cables, I've also got to do a winter rebuild (after the Cooper is up and running)...so I'm good for a few months.

There's not much that I lust for bike wise - but I'd jump all over a Hetchins or an older steel De Rosa at the right price. Most of my bike funds will probably go towards a few more merino jerseys.

Outside of that, it would be nice to have 4 day work weeks and 3 day weekends.I'd love to go back in time, find the guy who decided that we'd work 5 days and have 2 off instead of work 2/off 5 and kick his.....I'm in the queue for one like this.Congrats...I think you'll be very happy.

I am pretty lucky bikewise and healthwise......but I would love about a month off to ride and wrench during the day while the kids are at school and daycare.
I am trying hard to simplify my life, but if I really wanted to splurge on myself I would get one of these:

Consider myself the luckiest guy in the world, blessed with good health, a wonderful family, and more material riches than probably 99.5% of all people who have ever lived.

I'd like my kids to sleep past 7am on a weekend once in a while and a whole day off to go mountain biking at Blue Mountain.

When it comes to material things, I guess it'd be fun to have a Hampsten Strada Bianca, a set of Bora 35s for the Colnago, and a couple more of those carbon-railed RegalEs. But I'm really pretty set, thanks.

moving into a new apartment (which I lusted after -- not the apartment itself, but the move out of the current one, which is a story in and of itself) come december, so that's putting everything on hold for a while.

lusting for the kit that I designed for my team that with the move, I can't really justify the expense at the moment..

oh, but i am lusting for a long table, something that will sit 6-8-10 comfortably -- new apartment has more room, enough so that I might actually be able to host a holiday, which is all i've wanted for a very long time..

Time. Time to ride, time to relax.

At the moment I have in my shop (all in my size) a Pegoretti Duende, a Moots RSL Di2, a Giant Anthem X, a Parlee Z5, my Spot Ajax with a Niner RLT on the way. I want to ride them all, but I don't have time to.

All you guys wishing for a girlfriend... at least be glad you have the time to ride. I love my family dearly, but with a 3 year old, a 3-month old, a wife, a new bike shop to grow and moving this month (a result of being flooded out by Hurricane Sandy, as is the 3-month old) I envy the freedom and time that a lack of girlfriend allows. Enjoy it while you have it.

Tomorrow I'm doing my first bike ride in over a month... I'm putting my kid on the back of the Spot and giving him a ride to nursery school. If all goes well I'll get to try my new commute to work, too.

Oh yeah, new Enve's would be nice too.

Enough insurance settlement to fund another shop and some winter clothing, seeing as 90%+ of mine got burned up!

Funny how bike lust gets put on hold when you have unanswered questions about where you are going to live and what you are going to wear.

Thankfully I live in the deep south. So not so cold and not for long

Saturday morning my Pilates instructor asks, "You know anyone who would be interested in a deeply discounted new Porsche Boxster?"
Seems her aunt had won it at the local race track/casino.

Next day, during a break on the weekly hammerfest, one of the other riders tells us his dealer was blowing out Cannondale SuperSix Evos (like the new one he was riding) with DA9000 and Ksyrium SLRs for $4K.

Coincidence?
