Just pulled the one out of my second-hand fork, and it's only 6 cm. That ain't enough. And the one from Corner Cycles is too narrow (23.2), says that shop.
Anyone know of a shop that might be sitting on these still?

,,,go on Ebay and get an ITM expander. Much better, IMO. Jeff N.

Can't use plugs in alpha forks. Big no no. They cannot handle them structurally.

OK. Wait a second, now I remember. You're correct. Epoxied insert only in Alpha Q forks. I'm not thinking those will be easy to find. Not now.
I'm surprised you were able to remove the insert - aren't these supposed to bonded in place with epoxy when you install?

Yes, but inserts coming loose was an issue with these forks.

A ton of people never installed/prepped them correctly. I never had one pull out I did, but I did from other shops. Hell, I have fork that went into a garage and it cracked but the insert is still solidly in place.

I've made quite a few of these alloy inserts. I usually add them to 1" CF forks.
I could make one with whatever OD and length you like.
Also, I make them two different ways...the Alpha way, which is simply a sleeve...or...my way, with integral threading for the top cap bolt.
Generally I put the threading "in the hole" ~20mm...might need a longer bolt, but allows for some shortening, if necessary, later on.
