I'm confused. Can C24 7900 wheels be used with 11 speed Dura Ace stuff (e.g. Ultegra 6800)?

My 7900 wheels came with a spacer and instructions that say I should install it if I'm using 10 speed, but not install if I'm using 11 speed. But a bit of googling suggests that 7900 hubs are not 11 speed compatible. Searched the forum threads, but I'm still confused.

And if it is true C24 7900 will work with Shimano 11 speed, then that should mean they work with Campy 11 speed too, right?

7900-C24 wheels are NOT 11spd compatible, but the new 9000-C24 is. Im not sure about the spacer that you referance...on the new 11spd wheels you need to run a thicker ~3mm spacer plus the 1mm 10spd spacer. No spacers for an 11spd cassette. On a 7900 series wheel you should only have the 1mm 10spd spacer.

Hope that makes sense!

The spacer is to be used on 9/10 speed hubs. No spacer on dedicated 10 speed hub. As mentioned above, 7900 wheels are not 11 speed compatible.

I would assume that all the 9000 wheels can be dumbed down to 10speed??

Thanks guys. You're right -- the instructions that came with the wheels say to add the 1mm spacer if you're running 10 speeds, so I assumed that 11 speeds would be wider and you could just remove the spacers to make room. Apparently it is not that simple. I read the instructions online more carefully and elsewhere they say these wheels are 8/9/10 speed compatible. Nothing about 11 speeds.
