Not sure what the going rate is, maybe someone here can lend a hand? There's certainly some scratches and such as its been ridden but no dents/dings etc - still rides like a dream. This is a bike to ride!
Here's the bike: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=84029
What's included: Frame/Fork & Silver CK headset
Size: 53 c-t-c has like a 54.3 top tube.
Let me know what you think is a fair price and/or if interested
Cheers

Less than 1000 for sure. it is steel and at least 20 years old. If it is a 'lust' for you, than what is 300 more, but it is not a lust or size for me and the newer steels like Bedford tig are sweet. If your budget expands for lugged than it opens some wonderful builds from kirk, kellogg, sachs, etc,,, They all are posters here!

since you asked for an opinion...
for F/F/head set, I wouldn't pay any more than $600... just a few years ago, you could of bought the re-released version of this frameset for around $1500 new... now I could see $1000-$1200 for the complete bike... ** my complete $$ was for the first set of pics, not the new Athena group... ;)
BUT, it's worth as much as someone who loves a Mercxx (like Butch) will pay...

I can't get $900 for an '87 Corsa, clean and complete with a period correct Chorus build. Market for old bikes is apparently dead.

Ok. Thanks.
I'll re-post later with updated pics & price. My gut is thinking $600 with CK headset and Campy BB cups if u wanna go modern.

I think that is a realistic expectation...

I would settle for this frame if it was a 52tt
Hope this lovely bike finds a new owner!

I think Fourflys is right here. I would be happy with $600 for the frameset.
Market for vintage bikes is very very tough right now.

And so is the 26 inch MTB market, yet I have three "old" steel bikes, and two (soon to be three) 26'er MTBs.
Market for old bikes/groups peaks and valley's, ime and imo. It's in a valley now. Always comes back, as long as the likes of a few here (including me) still ride. That is a gorgeous bike.

So now is the time to post a WTB for a 55/56? :)

Looking. I missed that Serotta Fierte with S3 fork being about 20min too late. A Bianchi or Mondonico in EL/OS will be great. I just missed a Tommasini Diamante and then I saw a Tommasini Velocista MAX on EBAY that was ridiculously overpriced (3k) that I would've really liked. So I guess something in EL/OS or a MAX frame again will be nice (but that Fierte with S3 fork will be really awesome).

i had the exact same frameset, which i had restored by Allan Wanta and then built up with Dura Ace 7400. more info here:

I sold it for $1,800 complete.
I think $600 for the frame & fork plus headset is a great deal. You could probably get up to $800 for it if you put it on eBay with a Buy It Now.
