As the title states
Looking for a SSP BB. English threads for a road double.
I have an Italian SSP BB if you want to trade, moving the parts over to a new frame I should be receiving soon and want to get the ball rolling on collecting parts.
Thanks!
The sealed one or cup and spindle?

I'm really just looking for a bb that will work with the ssp cranks on a English threaded frame. If they both work then either one will do.

I think you could use a Shimano 113, as the SP Pro was 112.
I could probably check this if you want. I have a last gen. SP crank on hand.
Not sure, but the early SP crank might have used the assymetrical Superbe BB. Sean?
I do have a Superbe assymetrical spindle marked 68, but don't have the cups.

I would need the cups. I have an Italian Superbe bb but I'm moving the group over to a frame with an English bb.
I think SSP has a proprietary spindle. Campy is the closest option and might work.
Not 100% sure though.

I was thinking you might be able to use other brands of cups if the Superbe spindle is right, but I supect it isn't. I was planning to use some Stronglight cups with it, but they are Italian.
You might use your Italian spindle with other cups too, but it's probably 2mm wider than it needs to be.
I think I have a complete Sprint BB here, but IIRC it's a different length spindle than SP. I don't mind running a Shimano BB with a SunTour crank, so I guess I could sell you the cups if you don't come up with anything else.

Thanks, I'll wait a coupled days to see if I can come up with something.
I'm not married to the idea of having it be 100% SP, I just want the peace of mind of knowing it will work without me having to do work arounds.

Beautiful cranks.
Phil Wood 68x110.5 Campy/ISO taper is what I used for my SSP double, and that was the Sheldon Brown recommendation.
PM if interested. I have a used titanium spindle of this bb, a set of cups and maybe even an extra Phil bb tool/nut.

Also SKF makes a 111mm ISO taper.
SKF BBs are super durable as I understand it, just a bit heavy is all.

I just assumed SP was JIS. If it's ISO, Campagnolo 111s should work.

I've heard the ISO is close but not 100% the same as SP.
Whats the downfall of this? Will the cranks damage the taper and fall off eventually?
Suntour had it's own taper for superbe. The only ISO stuff was later SSP track, the rest of the track stuff was JIS IIFC.
It's not that much of a difference, but it's slightly off.
I might have a cartridge one. I tend to jump on them when I find them. Will check.
