Thanks for looking so far.
Neighbor kid and my son's BF [14 year old Boy Scout] just came into an older lugged Bianchi from the 80's with stem shifters, Suntour & Huret and I hope I can stop brakes, 27-1/4" wheelset.
I don't want to deep with $$ quality parts. Bryan is still growing 14, 6ft, 180lbs - his grandad is a monster big Swede. He has two brothers, one of which is severe Autism.
Frame has cable stops on down tubes.
If anybody has something - anything useful I would appreciate a reply.

You probably need to be a little more specific about what you want to do. Wheels have aluminum or steel rims? What kind of shape are they in and what's the rear hub width?
If it's 126 spaced and the wheels are decent, I'd suggest an indexed Shimano or SunTour DT shifter setup, either 6 or 7 speed. You could go with barcons too and still keep the cost reasonable, but they will be a bit harder to come by. For brakes, I'd probably just put modern Tektros on it.

I've got the brake levers pictured below. They are aero levers but need bullet style ferrules.

Thanks for all input. I have a trip with bike and boys to LBS. Somebody has a wrecked bike w Brifters. I'll have to update this thread after. Thanks again!

Are those Dia-Compes? I might be interested. Still trying to put some SunTour groups together, but ST branded ones seem to be scarce.
