Welcome to the forum. It tends to be a little quiet on the weekends. You should post your search for a 57 x 57 in the classifieds portion.

Wow! I like the way your bikes are set up, they looked fast just standing there! You and the Jerk-O should get together sometimes during happy hours. Welcome you here!

Welcome to the site..
I've been to Deutchland twice...spent time in Wilemshaven
and Hamburg(I end up in the "Reperbahn"! :D ).

Always enjoyed the visits!

Great looking Merlin!....
hey?..I've always been a big Michael Schumacher fan..
whats the word over there?
will he be back??

Kimi Raikkonen is starting to look like he might take
the title of "worlds fastest" from the "rocket-man" himself....Shuey!

take care!

Slow on the weekends because forumites are out riding or because they tend to use the Internet at work rather than home?

Welcome, Thomas! The only english you'll really need for this forum is the phrase "Bro, IMHO, Bro". That pretty much says it all

Hello Thomas,

Welcome to the forum. Sie sind nicht der Einzige, der in Deutschland lebt! The Internet sure makes the world a small place. US Competition (http://www.uscompetition.de) in Darmstadt occassionally has frames for sale. A year or two ago Tour Magazine built the most expensive bike they could using an Ottrot frameset provided by them. I don't see anything for sale now though.

As a cyclist I hope that it is the former, as an employer I am afraid that it is the latter. :D

I do not post here often but I will pop in once a month or so to check out the threads. There are better cycling forums out there but this is certainly one of the better ones when it comes to discussing steel frames and vintage cycling. Kind of an older crowd but I still find many of the discussions on the forum to be somewhat interesting, and perhaps that's why I pop in once ever few weeks.

I have been to Germany more than a few times. Beautiful country. I have a lust for Strock frames but they are very rare in the US. Perhaps you can enlighten us on Storck frames and other cycling products from Germany. Look forward to talking with you on the forum and again welcome.

Welcome to the forum Rock!

The old family tree has roots in your neck of the woods. Don't mind me, I'm the crazy one that everyone smiles at and then trys to get as far away from as they can. ;)

Hi Thomas,

here we meet again ;)

I still love your Merlin, although I like some details of my Serotta better :p . I'm gonna post some pics here and in Tour-Forum when my new stuff is fixed.

btw, I'm pretty impressed by your deraillour clamp. Did you protect it after drilling against oxidation?

cheers

...the scapin´s are really wonderfull bike´s.
i like to ride with it.

in 1985, i spent 3 weeks in italy and had a wonderful 2 day visit to
scapin and got the soup-nuts industrial espionage tour. i was very
impressed with the orderliness, design, and innovation that the family
brought to the frames, the production facility in the basement, and
the expansive retail space on the ground floor. the bicycles were a
breed apart, even back then.
