Dimpling Chainstays

For all the builders out there, what would be an effective way to add a dimple to my chainstays on the cross bike. They are Columbus Zona and just a bit too tight with 33mm tires. Already wore through both paint layers down the steel. Thinking a c clamp and small pieces of wood. . . .

I asked the same question on the framebuilders forum a year ago when I was considering a frame purchase on this forum.
