Got it back from the shop today. I had too much going on this week to build the wheels myself, so I just had the guys at the shop do it. I was jazzed, it came out looking nice. Big ride tomorrow

T11 hubs and what rims?

Is that a triple I see? We need more pictures. It looks great.

Yes, I went with the triple crank. Used it on Sunday in the North Shore Century, it was very, very smooth. I can't say enough about the triple making the bike much more enjoyable for me. I never had to drop to the smallest ring, but knowing it is there is comforting

Sorry for late reply, yes, those are TB14s laced to White Industries T11s. I am having some issues with the FD, it won't jump up into the large ring very easily. I need to try and tweak it some more, but I am starting to wonder if the LBS got the chain length correct.

That crank is lovely, IMO. Campy sure has a knack for elegant design...

Is there any slack in FD cable? On previous Campy Triples, with new hood design, the FD cable needed to be very tight to make the shift well. Almost so tight the cable acted as the stop.

I can't speak for triples, but I found the doubles shift best this way. Absolutely no slack. I hear shimano is about the opposite

Thank goodness that bike now has the proper Campy.

The previous owner had fishing equipment on it.

How do you like the TB14's? I'm seriously considering them for a build. They (and the bike) look the biz.

Built more than a few, all silver version.

They build ok, BUT they scratch really easy and the side wall isn't as uniform as those with better machined sidewalls.

But they can be a fine wheelset and the only other shiny silver rim are Sun..and they build better than those.

So far, other than the shifting problems I love it. Everybody should get a set of wicked hubs, it's crazy. The problems in the FD are deeper than just the adjustment I think. For some reason it won't shift up or down smoothly, mid to big ring.

The chain "sticks" to the bottom of the ring and won't peel off when it comes around. It is very strange (doing from big to mid). So it ends up peeling off midway and then banging the bottom of the FD's chain guide.

And it is very, very hard to get it to go from mid to large. I will probably end up taking it to a good campy shop (probably where I got fitted) and have them show me what is wrong.

The whole bike is faster. That part I know for sure.. it's hilarious.

I built mine up with 36h Chorus 7s hubs and like them a lot.
They built fine but I agree with OP that you have to be very careful with scratching. No sidewall issues for me.
Not a lot of "shiny" choices in 36h...

I haven't set up a new campy triple, but the FD looks too high to me. I set my wife's 8spd triple up with maybe 2.5mm clearance between the big ring and derailleur cage. It shifts very well.

I would lower the FD and make sure the cable is tight.

Excellent advice guys, I moved the FD down and tightened the cable and it is shifting good just taking it around the block.

Thanks, saved me a trip to the bike shop.
