I need a Shimano mountain bike rear derailleur to pair with DA7700 9 speed shifters to handle 32 and 34 cogs. XTR M 950, 952, 953 and 960 are what I think I need. But would a "Shadow" model work, or is the cable pull different?

Thanks for any advice!

I have what you need (XTR); let me know if you're interested.

All Shimano 9-spd stuff has the same cable pull as the road 9 and 10 speed. The 10-spd MTB stuff is different.

The 9-spd Shadow stuff is fine, the 10-spd, no, and definitely no on all the Shadow Plus stuff.

Will the 9-spd M750 XT rear der work with the Shimano 10 and 11 gear?
Know it's happy with 9.

Thanks.

Aren't those missing the barrel-adjuster thingy where the cable goes in at the back end?

Shadow will work as long at it's '9s'..cannot use a 10s RD. XT, SLX, Deore, lotsa ones..no need to be XTR.

And for above, get a Jagwire plug in barrel adjuster. BUT I generally use non shadow, LX/Deore, work great, have a barrel adjuster, aren't expensive.

Yes for road 10s, not for 11s..which is unique...DA 11s and now 6800 is completely non compatible with everything else shimano makes..where IS the bitching about that?

Sigh, yeah...where's the noise about this. Looks like I keep the one bike setup with SRAM.
Thanks for the info.
