Ha! That's going on my office door for grad students to ponder. Do you have a link to the original?

I'm sorry I do not have a link.

You can just download the image here. My wife is one week away from defending her PHD. It's been an insane 4 years for her, I don't know how, or maybe I should say why, any one could do it!

There must be a hi-test version for architecture grad school. I was fed (and fed) so much BS during my Masters that it nearly killed me (and others).

eg. "... but Darren, you haven't described the most critical 'moment' in this building? Can you define the sensations you feel when the sunlight streaming through the windows glistens on the maple syrup as you pour it over your pancakes? How can you sexualize the morning ritual of breakfast?? "

No joke. I quote that verbatim.

Graduate school is great, but it does require a certain level of ego, that's for sure.

It is conclusively proven............................until someone else says it isn't.

Thank goodness my program terminated at Masters. I'm not sure I could take anymore toward a PhD and all the B.S. that comes with that.

Don't spite it. Academic fatulation makes for a grand character study. Disseminating posers from professors is the best fun.

Why? Seemed like a good idea at the time. Plus I was up at school for a summer quarter between the third and fourth year of college and there was this one week when three of my profs caught me unaware with the question, "what are your plans for graduate school"? My answer was the same each time, but with less hesitation and stumbling as we went through the series: I've been meaning to come and talk to you about that. Let's blame a kindly gentleman named Ernst Snapper for getting the ball rolling.

I've thought of another one....

"I've gone back to Grad school to get my Masters" ------------ I need some time off from work.:p

Amazing list! I defended my PhD 6 weeks ago and used a little more than half of those phrases. On a rare occasion I really did know what I was talking about

I teach in grad school... the only thing missing is "Its not considered cheating in my country."

Heh it also works pretty much for corporate professional services.
