I've got a new set of Mavic Aksiums with a Shimano freehub body.
A LBS has the Campy freehub body available. Has anyone ever changed this out? Easy or pain in the arse?

Since I've been on a spending spree for the Campy conversion from Shimano, $80 is appealing vs selling off the wheels then finding another set.

Really easy, you can look on youtube for videos but it is literally a 5 minute job including drinking the beer.

Easy..5mm allen to hold the axle, 17mm to loosen the axle end..slides off, remember the washer, oil the seal and plastic bushing on base of FH body..reinstall.

Do it over something white, pawls/springs can fall out.

Everything above + make sure the body is for the right year hub.
Mavic changed between 2012 and 2013 with a bigger axel.
Excel has a great video on their website on just this.

Same FH body tho, newer ones comes with a insert..read the directions..the ones for MTB wheels are different, even the 2 pawl ones but road ones are plug and play.

True but if you get sold a 2012 it will not fit on a 2013.

So any Mavic wheel purchased in the last 10 years or so all have hubs that don't even need to be "converted" for 11-speed. They always ran a fat spacer on the 10-speed + the Shimano spacer (so 1.75mm + 1mm), just drop all the spacers to go to 11.

Slap on a Shimano 11-spd cassette and boom, works on everything Campy or Shimano.
