I could do without the gritty beer-guy voice, but the video itself is top notch.

Gave me goosebumps. A lot of crazyy shots. Question is can I really buy all those products from BC? Im interested in that Gerosteiner Kayak =)

Is it just me or is the background music too loud to hear the voice clearly? I'm listening to it on a laptop, so maybe that is why.... but I notice this a lot lately. Maybe I'm just going deaf.

The commercial was very cool. I hope those were all user submitted videos. Would be kind of lame if they just licensed content from all the adventure movies they make every year.

Speaking of which, do road cyclists make such movies?

I have, and while it's just lovely, the price is a bit much, and I'm not sure how often I'll get to play life-size chess given the winter time is upon us...

Very cool video. I was surprised by this comment in the accompanying article:

"Backcountry.com sees themselves as catering to the more experienced members of the outdoor world (they only sell higher-end outdoor gear) so the point was to be honest about what it’s like to really go after those extreme experiences. (No, we didn’t get any free stuff for writing this, we’re just fans of the commercial.)

“'The founders know that there is a certain sacrifice to being outside, an element of fighting through a lot of unpleasantness for a few fleeting moments of perfection,' he says. 'There are a lot of broken bones and hospitals. It’s not REI and campfires....'"

I always thought that backcountry.com was an online discounter that qvc bought to be it's online equivalent of REI.

Clicking through to backcountry.com's website, turns out there's a whole series of "making of" videos that are pretty cool, too.
