I need a 6700 10sp cassette. The CS is $20 cheaper on Nashbar.

Well?

Stands for "cheap s&%!"

;)

p.s. honestly, I don't think it makes a lick of a practical difference. I use both.

CS is just the first part of the Shimano cassette nominclature (CS-6700, CS-9000, CS-7800, etc, etc).

yes, "CS" means cassette in shimano-speak. BR means brake, etc. It's the same thing, just cheaper at Nashbar (they always have Shimano stuff cheap).

Nashbar has them both listed for sale. If they are essentially the same thing, then I'll get the CS. This is going on my backup wheels anyway.

Edit: They changed the price last night so I may just have to get the 105.

Well, get the 5700, cheaper still, works, lasts the same..just a few grams heavier. Or even Tiagra..it's a consumable, afterall.

Might want to check with TiDesigns tho, just to make sure.

It's the same exact thing. The summer intern just made a new listing instead of adding to the old one.

You can't trust a summer intern:

Every cassette should be the best it can be!

Same cogs tho, just attached a little bit differently. Shift the same, last the same..just 'heavier', is all.

Except 'DA, with ti cogs, which are lighter but certainly, "not the best".

But this might not sit well with TiDesigns, he may want you to do one cog drills while sitting in a chair.

Weights are about the same too between 105 and ultegra cassettes. The shot peen or whatever finish is on the ultegra looks nicer than the polished 105. If you swap the steel locking on the 105 for an ultegra, weights are equivalent.

I ordered the 105 cassette and a pair of crochet backed gloves. The polished cassette will go well with the wheels it's going on.

OR you could get it in three or four days.
Honestly I don't get shipping rates. I've had stuff shipped from ribble arrive faster than some stuff from the east coast. I understand the ground vs air thing but in comparison it just seems silly sometimes.
