I know that on a road bike, sometimes a different colored fork is the result of an after market upgrade/swap. Lately, I've seen a few mountain bikes with a solid colored frame and a fork that really makes the bike pop.
Would love to see road bikes that do the same thing. This is common on bare metal frames, but not so much on painted frames, except maybe Geekhouse.
What do you guys think of this style? Have any good ones to share?
(If we already have a thread on these, apologies)
Some examples.

That's a Black Sheep ti truss fork if I'm not mistaken. I think the model name is "Faith".

I'll shoot a photo of a track bike at my local shop later today. Black with a pink fork. Very cool stuff.

This might be obvious to others, but I have to ask...is part of the bike made of bamboo?
Oh, and regardless...do tell more about the fork! Looks very intriguing.

Yep. Carbon/bamboo bikes (http://boobicycles.com/about/).
I think color contrasting forks look great. You already see it on any unpainted Ti frame anyway ;)

True, but many of those are just left black from ENVE... which to me, looks ok, but also sometimes seems like an after thought. So, although they contrast to an extent, I don't think they have as much finishing pop as, say, a fork painted some other color with the Ti frame.
Contrast this with Moots, which paints the fork to match the Ti finish. Interesting touch, that to me, has more attention to detail than a black fork with Enve logo.

A bit more going on with the frame (as opposed to just a single color), but still a high contrast pop.

When I was deciding on a color for this frame I asked Carl Strong to send me pics of a finished build done in Tucker orange. The example he sent just happened to have an unpainted carbon fork...and all sorts of bells & whistles went off in my head. Decided I definitely wanted the orange frame/black fork.
There's a guy in my cycle Club who rides a black frame with an orange fork. When we're on the same ride together people think we've been swapping parts!

To my eye, it is a bimodal distribution of outcomes. Either looks very good or very bad. And I'm honestly not sure what tips it one way or the other for me...
Do you not like it because it looks unfinished or because you don't like the contrast?
The Rock Lobster mountain bike on the first post just 'looks right' to me. Not sure why. Fewer road frames achieve that same thing, in my opinion.
