Bought a used pair of neutrons, went to grease the front bearings and can't get the end caps to break free. Is this a routine occurrence with an elegant solution, or add a pipe to the hex wrenchs and brute force it? If brute force which threads will strip first, the cap or the axle?

The domed plastic cap? I just put a pick or small flat blade screw driver in one othe gaps by the spoke. It doesn't take much force to pull it off for there.

Yep. Easy-peasy.

Just don't lose 'em or crack 'em. Hard to find replacements...

Not the dirt/dust cover, I'm speaking of the aluminum ends you put the two 5mm wrenches into.

I've had some that were very stubborn, but have yet to strip a thread.

I have as well. Right when I thought it was too much force, it broke free and everything looked perfect.
